Rationale

Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service has been caring for the need of the underprivileged families in Hong Kong since 2009. Sponsored by the business and community people, Hotmeal Service provides the $10 Hotmeal offer. A good meal costs next to nothing, together with the pertinent care of the social workers and support services, including career counseling and community resource referral, help easing the financial burdens of the low-income families as well as facilitating the return to workplace of the unemployed; thus enhance their resilience towards difficulties.

 Service target

Low-income families (overall household income is 75% lower than the median household income in Hong Kong) or unemployed individuals

(Except individuals currently receiving CSSA or supports from food bank, or non-Hong Kong resident)
